As linhagens são fornecidas, para pesquisadores de diversas instituições públicas e privadas, nacionais e internacionais. Além disso, a coleção realiza diversos serviços tais como: a manutenção, preservação e distribuição de culturas, caracterização taxonômica e análise genotípica.
A CCBH conta com o apoio da FINEP, FAPERJ e CNPq, sendo filiada à World Federation of Culture Collections, WFCC (WDCM 947) e fiel depositária no Conselho de Gestão de Patrimônio Genético, CGEN (N° 022/2010) como subcoleção da CCBS</dc:description>
